Ingrid Goes West

SPOILER ALERT

Co-Writer/Director Matt Spicer

I love Aubrey Plaza! She has the great ability to play superb comedy combined with great quirkiness and pathos. This role allows her to strut her stuff letting her really shine, and Elizabeth Olsen also plays well off of her.

The subject matter is very interesting, combining a real sense of a human being in crisis, and what I hoped would be recovery and healthy transformation but ends up being relapse. The ending also leaves me sad for Ingrid’s future, as it seems she’s just being more deeply enabled by the attention. Very much a cautionary tale for our times, and leaves me questioning how much time to spend on social media, and what effect that has on my self worth. Should See
